Customs Regulations: No customs inspection. Exempt from import tax or duties. Also exempt from import tax or

duties are non-government organizations, i.e. Red Cross, UNDP, UNICEF, U.S. Aid, etc;

however, most are subject to customs inspection.

Firearms and Weapons

 

Customs Regulations: Importation permitted under special circumstances only, on a case-by-case basis.

Household Goods and Personal Effect

 

Required Documents: Inventory in English. Passport copies, itemized list of values, insurance documents if

available.

Customs Regulations: If deemed over 6 months old, then duty and tax free. If ‘new’, then import duty/tax is generally

35%.

Remarks: Avoid packing goods in original boxes as they will be deemed as new.

Vehicles

 

Required Documents: Certificate of registration (showing engine and chassis numbers), Proof of ownership,

commercial invoice, or proof of value

Customs Regulations: New or used cars incur import duty/tax of approximately 55%.
